Top Five Wednesday

I was recently watching one of my favorite Booktuber’s (Jordyn from J. Bookish) and she started talking about something called “Top Five Wednesdays”. This is a group on Goodreads where the moderators come up with different topics for your “Top Five” bookish lists. Each week, everyone does a video or blog post on the previously decided on topic! I love this idea and think it will get me to start blogging more frequently. I figured that the first week of May would be a fantastic time to start.

This weeks prompt is to list your top five favorite Science Fiction & Fantasy covers, which are two genre’s I don’t typically frequent, BUT the cover art on most books of these genre’s are absolutely gorgeous; making it hard to narrow down my choices to just five.

In no particular order…

illuminae

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

acotar

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

night circus

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

caraval

Caraval by Stephanie Garber

diviners

The Diviners by Libba Bray

As you can see I had quite the red/black theme going on there for the first four and then totally ruined it with that last one. Of these five, I have still yet to read Caraval and Illuminae, but they are both on my TBR. This list was based solely on which Science Fiction and Fantasy covers I found the prettiest/coolest and most aesthetically pleasing. Something I wanted to note about The Diviners is the fact that this series has had SO many different cover redesigns for who knows what reason. The link takes you to the most recent version, but the photo I posted above is the copy I have and my favorite off all the different versions.

TTFN,

Samantha
