In my last post, I discussed my absolute favorite face products that I used in 2016. In this post, I am going to be sharing all of my other favorite makeup/beauty products that I loved this past year. Without further ado… let’s get into it!
EYES
I had quite a few favorite eye products this year, so it was pretty difficult to narrow it down. These six products were the ones that I found myself reaching for on a daily basis or packing in my travel bag.
Clinique Chubby Lash Mascara– I first discovered this mascara when it was featured as one of Sephora’s 100 point rewards. I had zero expectations and ended up being blown away. This mascara lifts and thickens my lashes. All Clinique mascaras are ophthalmologist and allergy tested, which is fantastic for those with sensitive eyes.
Clinique Lash Power Long-Wearing Mascara– This mascara is the absolute best “waterproof”product I have found. It uses a tubing technology so even when it gets wet, it does not smear all over your face and give you raccoon eyes. It just tubes off in little clumps!
Maybelline Falsies Push-up Angel Mascara– This is a great drugstore mascara that actually works great for bottom lashes. The wand is slim and precise, perfect for hard to reach lashes.
Naked Smokey Eye Shadow Palette– This palette is fantastic. It has a great mix of very wearable and also very dramatic colors. I typically use the nude/brown colors on the left for daytime looks, but the darker colors on the right are perfect for creating a more natural looking smokey eye.
Tarte Young, Wild & Free Amazonian Clay Palette– I have to say that this palette is my holy grail. I literally use it every single day. You can easily create natural daytime looks, which I wear to work, or dramatic going-out looks. I use the black shadow as a liner and it seriously stays on all day with no smudging. It is also the perfect size to throw in a purse or a travel bag.
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper– This liquid liner is amazing! Just like the name says, it really does stay on like a tattoo. The felt tip is also great for creating the perfect wing.
LIPS
Nars Velvet Matte Lip Crayon in Cruella– This is the most flattering red on literally anyone. It has a nice cool, blue undertone that pairs great with pretty much every hair color and skin tone. Im fair skinned with strawberry blonde hair, so it’s pretty hard to find a good red that does not wash me out. This is my go-to for a perfect red lip!
Mac Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in Viva Glam III– This is a great dark, purple berry color. I like to wear this color in the fall and winter or for special occasions.
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Sake– Bite is hands down my all time favorite brand for lipstick. I have several different shades, but Sake is probably my most worn shade. It is a mauvey-nude color with a satin finish and I am not even kidding when I say that it stays on all day. I can put it on at 6am while getting ready for work and it will still look great at 4pm when I get off. I could not recommend this brand more!
Still Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina– Of all the liquid lipsticks that I have tried, Stila has got to be my favorite brand. This is a very versatile color that can be worn day or night.
In the picture below, I have swatched all of the lipsticks starting with Sake on top, Viva Glam III, Cruella and then Patina on the bottom.
BROWS & PERFUME
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade– This has got to be one of my favorite discoveries of 2016. It is a serious brow game changer. I have to recommend that if you are going to use this product, you purchase the brush that goes along with it. It’s the #12, I believe.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Pencil– If I don’t feel like putting in the effort to use the dip brow, I can quickly fill in my brows with this pencil. It has a spoolie on one end and pencil on the other. There is a wide variety of shades, too, so there is definitely a color for everyone.
Soap & Glory Arch Brow Gel– This is a recent find, but I already love it. It is a great dupe for Benefit Gimme Brow and half the cost! I like to set my brows with this after using the above two products.
Urban Outfitter’s Pistachio Brûlée Perfume– I love this perfume! It was a total impulse buy, but it has turned into my everyday perfume! It is soft and subtle scented, not overpowering at all.
Ariana Grande Sweet Like Candy Rollerball– Now, I am not usually one to purchase celeb scents, but once I smelled this in store, I knew would use it constantly. It smells exactly like the name says, sweet, but also relatively subtle. It’s great to just throw in my purse or work bag!
There ya have it folks, my 2016 beauty favorites! I’m looking forward to discovering new favorites this upcoming year. Let me know your favorites in the comments below!
