Top Five Wednesday: Summer Reads

I’m back today with yet another T5W! This weeks topic is…

Summer Reads
“The weather is heating up (for half of the world), so what books remind you of summer and are your quintessential summer reads?”

When I saw this weeks topic posted, I was ecstatic. Although, because I have so many books to choose from, it was pretty difficult to narrow the list down to just five. When I think Summer, I think beachy, YA contemporary romance. So without further ado, here are my top five Summer reads!

alex

Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett- This modern You’ve Got Mail-esque story has everything you could possibly ask for in a summer read. It takes place in a small coastal California surf town and is filled with sassy banter and adorable romance.

truth

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen- I’m pretty sure this is my most read book of all time. My copy is so tattered from constantly forcing people to read it and also toting it around in my backpack, purse and beach bag. This is hands down one of my favorite books of all time. Just read this book. Please.

Okay, my last three books are all by the same author, so I’m not sure if that’s cheating. I don’t really care though because Morgan Matson is the Queen of summer reads.

gone

Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson- Shy and quiet Emily is used to living in her best friend’s rambunctious shadow. Then, Sloane’s gone, she has totally ghosted everyone, and the only thing she left behind is a “bucket list” of things for Emily to do to get her to break out of her shell.

unexpected

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson- Dogs, nerdy-cute boys and scavenger hunts? Sign me up! This book is adorable and a total feel-good story that will leave you smiling long after you finish the last page.

detour

Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson- This is Matson’s very first book, but by the way it is written, you would never be able to tell. Follow Amy as she is stuck doing a cross-country road trip with a mysterious family friend that she has decided she already hates. A classic “enemies to lovers” contemporary, I’m positive you will love this book just as much as I do.
